ouch! ...but it is actually the same in new.. how about a box with a red border and an "Hello World!" example inside that *in every case/for every mod example* needs to be copied into a .htaccess to work/do something? for people, like me, who learn by doing instead of reading? i know a lot of open source is developed by students who think they need to bloat stuff with science.. but actually the majority wants work to be done... and not to read through bloat and more bloat and more bloat...
when i look at php.net the first thing i skip to are the smallest examples (and then the bigger examples)... written by people like me.. it is abolutely perfect and surely do-able for apache docs too..
