I have read that in the other thread. Doesn't belong in this thread and 
there is no need to repeat the question. I didn't answer in the other 
thread because I have  no good answer and have never had the need to use 
it. Besides that: sometimes people just have no time to answer questions.

Then you should look better! Don't only look in the wiki, but seach in 
general. When I search for "doctrine last id" in Google I get a lot of 
results. The first one is immediately the right answer (do a getId() after 
the flush() ) and some results further down you'll also find the place in 
the wiki where it is shown:
