Thank for that response - I've been scouring the internet trying to find that info. I had a feeling that was the case, but there are some examples out there that include an 'extends' parameter in the entity tag attributes (which does not work).
So I guess I go try to figure out the annotation mapping in better detail now if I want to experiment with the super classes and forego using generate-entities anymore.
