All, I must confess I did not check this with MySQL or Postgre. Anyway, what would you expect to be the correct behavior for this?
I really think that a database column should not be set (therefore remain NULL) for an entity attribute that neither is touched in an application, nor has a default value. And an empty Oracle-Blob-Object is a non-NULL value.
