Actualy I don't care the return value of the merge since I only expect to put the entity back in UoW. The point here is that I'm trying to find a trick to an issue between SF2 and doctrine, where both projects have an issue opened on this subject. I'm pretty sure errors due to modifications on UoW during flush are expected, but since detach and merge / persist methods exists both on EntityManager and UoW, I expected there might be an interest of using it at this moment.
