Since the title of this bug references point number 1 in the bug description, and since none of the documents linked to in this report contain the bug any more, this bug should probably be closed out as fixed.
The original bug reporter should probably open a new bug for point number 2 if it still exists (I couldn't check because no explanation is given of where to find that bug and no reference to fstab exists in any of the documents linked to in this bug report). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Documentation Packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-docs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759485 Title: /boot/grub/menu.lst must be /boot/grub/grub.cfg Status in “ubuntu-docs” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 In your otherwise useful documentation, I found two errors: 1. It appears that menu.lst has been changed to grub.cfg in /boot/grub. I had to look hard to find it on my Ubuntu10.10 system. 2. Once you have updated /etc/fstab, you also need to do the following: chroot / (or rather the mount location) ; update-initramfs -u. Otherwise your changes are not taken further into account.
