Launchpad does not appear on the Desktop Utility, nor does the Desktop
Utility appear on the Desktop after I logged in.

Bug description:
I am using Ubuntu 13.10 and it seems that I can't see the Launchpad
and Program Files, including the Software Manager or Updater, because
Adobe Flash Player needs to be updated so I can play my games. Also, I
put in a DVD and nothing happened?
