Thank you for noticing and bringing it up. Obviously, to be able to switch to GNOME Classic, you must have the vanilla-gnome-desktop package installed. Perhaps this really needs to be mentioned in the documentation. I think this is a relic of the times when Ubuntu GNOME used to be one of the official Ubuntu flavors.
The list of options that appears when the gear icon is clicked, however, is working as intended. Impish comes with two session types pre- installed: Ubuntu Xorg, which uses the Xorg display server, and Ubuntu, which is selected by default and uses the Wayland display server, really. This list grows as you install desktop sessions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Documentation Packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-docs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1954429 Title: wrong description in documentation Status in ubuntu-docs package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On this page https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/gnome- classic.html.en is described how to switch between user interfaces, but instead of "Switch to and from GNOME Classic" I can choose to switch between Ubuntu and Ubuntu Xorg, that actually doesn't make any changes at my system's interface.
