I would like to make comments about this word processing software. I ordered (spent money) on “A Beginner’s Guide” – no help / waste of money.
It is one of the hardest word processing software to use I have ever had. I cannot print mailing labels (I had to address my Christmas cards last year by hand). And now, I’ve got about 30 letters to mail and I’d love to be able to print labels or envelopes for them as I’ll have at least one other mailing to this group. Changing margin settings has too many steps. I tried creating a new database, to make a mailing list. Wouldn’t work. No index is a problem. Even the on-line manual is a joke. It says labels can be printed from the print command but have you tried to put in the label dimensions? Hah! And, I want an word abbreviate or shortcut option. What is there does not work. After spending much time looking for the option, finally finding it and adding my required shortcuts, it did not work. If I put in 1 or 2 characters the rest of the word or words does not fill in. Table: How do I set margins inside the text boxes? How do I tell the table to treat each cell the same, (i.e. center alignment) without having to go to the toolbar each time? Where’s the side ruler? How can I see the commands? The are hidden but there should be an option to see what they are. I had to get the calculator out to see how 5/8” calculates to decimal. There should be an option to choose which. I’m back to being frustrated to the point of tears. So, I’m going to quit, even this missive. I am not using my software nearly as much as I want to because it’s SO user unfriendly / difficult! This is, indeed, a poor replacement for Word or Word Perfect. Please respond if for nothing else to let me know there’s somebody out there.
