Hi Peter

Thanks for leading this topic.

Advancing one of my remarks:

On captions of small images (e.g. couple of icons) or tall and thin images (vertical toolbars) the caption text often flows vertically too (because the caption is bounded by the image outer frame). That look bad and IMHO the caption (actually the outer frame) should be wider to prevent excessive reflow of the caption text. A rule-of-thumb may be to let the caption have 2 lines at most, and not not exceed X % of the image width (X to be defined).

OK Olivier

I will create a new template using the old as a base.

All paragraphs, except Headings, will be set to “Do not split paragraph”. Will
add information about what paragraph and sentence length should be used with
this option selected.

Will also add info about bullet list and numbered items.

Give me a few days and my proposal for a new template will appear in the
contributor resources folder on NextCloud.

Hello Olivier
Evening times for meetings are not good for me, but do have a couple of items
that I would like mentioned.

I am open to change the meeting time and week day, if that helps you to
participate, which will be fantastic.

1. I am willing to continue updating the Impress and Draw guides to 7.4 and
beyond. Not sure yet if it really will be necessary to update to 7.4. Need to
test the beta LO 7.4 against the user guides to see what has changed.

You know you can have the list of improvements in the release notes, right? The
list may be just empty if nothing was added to Impress or Draw or nothing to
add to the guide if an improvement does not show to the user (e.g. performance,
code refactoring, corner-case bug fix...)

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/7.4

2. The LO chapter template needs to be updated to help reduce the formatting
errors that can occur when preparing user guides for publication. I did send
out an email recently with a few suggestions. Would appreciate some feedback
and ideas. I can easily update the styles and add a few instructions to help
our willing volunteers.

Yes I agree with your remarks in the other mail (sorry to take time to comment)
and I suggest we add these remarks into a new ODT file (and later mutated to
template V 8.0) in the /Contributor Resource/ folder.

I also have my own remarks too.

Regards
Olivier
