Eric,
I followed the advice provided in the Haynes Manual and it went very easily.

If you are referring to the plastic clip that supports the wire harness just
pinch the end
of it and the wire harness will free up from the chassis membrane it is
connected to.
This plastic clip has a couple of legs at the end that are pre-spread and
allow insertion
into a mounting hole then it locks and stays in place.

If the "clip" you are referring to is something else please advise with more
detail
and I'll be happy to assist you with this.

Thanks.
EJ

Subject: [dodge_intrepid] 2000 intrepid battery removal / air cleaner
removal

It's almost 5 years, so I am going to change out the battery.
However, my problem is that I can't seem to remove the air cleaner box
above the battery. I can't figure out how to unscrew (or whatever) I
am supposed to do with the one clip that has the cone shaped plastic
on the side of the air cleaner box. Any help would be greatly
  appreciated. Thank You.
