Doesn't matter which engine. Get the pressure
verified by a mechanical guage before doing anything.
It is more than likely a problem with the oil pressure
sending unit. It is rare for oil pumps to fail though
not unheard of. They can really only wear out faster
than the rest of the engine by pumping icky gunky oil
for their whole lives which will also wipe out the
bearings in an engine, at which point a perfectly good
oil pump won't be the solution to a low oil pressure problem.
