I had the same issue twice, it turned out to be the motor of the fan located 
outside the radiator, if you start feeling some weird noise & vibration it 
needs to be replaced. I changed the passenger side last month, last saturday 
the driver side started having the same issues, now the car is in the garage 
waiting to be repaired, $157 is the price of each one of them at your local 
dealership.

car, the idler pulley.  but i smell a rubber belt burning.  a while back, we 
had to do another water pump, so we put a new timing belt on.  the a/c belt is 
turning freely, but i think the smell is coming from there.  i took off the 
alt/pwr steering belt and it does not have a burn smell to it.
any suggestions??  i gotta get this done today, sunday.
