Right on Geoff .... the trep's lighting is poor to begin with and you don't want to diminish it at all. Good lighting at night is essential for safe driving. I had a 93 Grand Cherokee but the lighting was very bad on it as well. Tried 100 W bulbs but it didn't help. It was the lens - there was lots of frontal but the lens was just a poor design. The intrepid is even worse. I didn't even bother with higher wattage bulbs because the frontal area of the lens is very small. With hella bulbs in my 1981 round headlight BMW320i you could see for miles!! Jim
