Hi,

I just got back from a trip to Maine from Nova Scotia in my Intrepid
ES.

During the journey, I found the engine warning light (yellow light
picture of an engine) came on persistently after about 4 hours
driving at 70 MPH. I stopped at a garage in Maine who connected the
engine diagnostics and found it was an EGR valve issue. Strangely,
when I set off again after the diagnostics, the light was off.
Returning to NS, the light came on after about 2 hours at 60 MPH
(took it easy on the way back!) and stayed on the whole journey.
Coming off the highway and stopping for shopping for 10 minutes and
the light was off when I set off again.

It seems like this light might be coming on because of heat rather
than an EGR issue. There are no signs of engine knock, hesitation,
stalling, and rough idle which seem to be EGR failure symptoms. Or
maybe it is in the early stages of failure?

Any suggestions? I'm new to Intrepids and wonder if this is a
characteristic issue with Intrepids?

Thanks

Pavesa
