Your friendly local automotive salvage yard will probably sell you a good used oil pan for about $25. There is no need to buy new; they don't wear out.
The oil pressure sending unit is approximately $35. Check rockauto.com for a precise price, but I'd be surprised if it cost more than that. If you want to get dirty, changing these things is a pain in the ass, but technically neither one is complex. You will need a normal set of metric sockets, a $20 pair of jackstands to support the front of the car, and a large socket for the oil pressure sending unit that you can get for about $10 at Sears. (Use the new one as a gauge to determine what size you need in the store.) The oil pan is probably sealed with a sealant, rather than a cork/rubber gasket. You'd have to check with a dealer to be sure to get the right stuff, but you're probably talking about a $5 tube of goo. Total investment? Under a hundred bucks and probably a Saturday. That's what I would do. --Geoff On Feb 8, 2008 8:57 AM, Rajkumar Durairaj <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Recently I had my oil check lamp flickering at stop. I took it to > precision tune auto care.
