Hello, I own a 2002 Dodge Intrepid and on my way home tonight, I
noticed that my car was sputtering whenever I slowed-down. After I
came to a complete stop, the flashing engine light dinged and stayed
illuminated. I increased the speed and the light still continued to
flicker. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

2 days ago, I took it to Firestone in order to have a tune-up due to
the fact that I have a little over 66,000 miles on it (new wiring,
spark=plugs). I've only owned the car since 2005 when it had around
33,000 miles, and I've had the following problems with it:

* The transmission had to be replaced.
* I had to get a new thermostat due to it leaking.

I'm probably thinking that it's either the fan belts or maybe even the
starter causing this to happen, but I'm really not sure. The reason
why I'm giving it this prognostication is that I used to own Chrysler
Fifth Avenues, and whenever the car was sputtering, it was either the
starter or the alternator. I'm going to take it back to Firestone
tomorrow morning to see what's wrong with it. Any suggestions or
guesses on why my car is a lemon?
