Hi,

I live in Canada and bought a 2001 Intreped SE last year. I changed
winter tires onto my existing rims for winter and put my general
purpose tires on in the spring. Rather than doing this twice a year
and to keep salt out of my aluminum rims, I thought I'd get and extra
set of steel rims and I found some off a 1995 intrepid.

My current ones look like this

1995 Intrepid ones like this

or this

The diameter and width of the rims is identical. Anyone know of any
peculiarities that would get in the way of fitting these winter rims
to my car?

There is also a bit of rust on them so I wonder if I need to do any
preparation on them? Some rust layers flaking off the exposed inside
of the wheel rim. Also, some superficial rust with a bit of pitting
where the tire rim abutts onto the rim. I wonder if tire fitters
would just skim it with an abrasive to smooth it down during fitting
so I would be best to leave it?

Thanks

Pavesa
