Hi guys. My name is Tim, or Rand, I use both online. Anyway, I'm a
big Mopar fan. With the exception of a s-10 pickup I've been
attempting to restore, I've never owned anything but Chrysler's.
My first car was a ragged out '73 Duster with a slant six and more
than 250,000 on the odometer and it never skipped a lick. My second
car was a '74 Dart with a 318...someone once told me it was a long
block, but I have no idea what that means, but God could that little
joker fly.
My first new car was a '88 Reliant, a 2.5 with fuel injection.
Despite what some may say about the K-cars, I never had a moment's
trouble out of it. It was in a crash, severely damaged and got us
back home on a broken frame.
After that, I bought a used Plymouth Turismo with the 2.2.
Next was a 3.3 Dynasty also bought used, and finally my current
car, a little 95 Intrepid with a 3.3.
I'm hoping to get the s-10 back in highway condition so I can park
the Intrepid and attempt to take my time and restore it a little at a
time.
Anyway, just a few questions, the 3.3 is in great shape, it runs
smooth as silk, but as soon as I can find one, I'd like to replace it
with a 3.5.( is a transmission swap necessary?) If a 3.5 won't fit,
are performance parts available for the 3.3? I saw an add for a
computer performance chip that supposedly guarantees at least a 35 hp
increase at the wheels?
Thanks, Tim...
