I decided to parallel connect to the cigarette lighter wires with a rocker
switch (w/ led light built in) mounted on the dash panel below the
instrument cluster.
Power to the cigarette lighter is fused to operate only when the ignition
switch is on.
The led strips are great especially when its dark out.
Spectacular sight looking at the front of the car.
In addition standing on either side of the car the lighted white led’s on
the strips are very visible.
This project turned out better than I anticipated.
I’ll try to post some pics.
Total cost just over $30.

Subject: [dodge_intrepid] Alpena LED Strips

I have a 2000 Intrepid and currently in process of mounting a pair of the
Alpena "28" LED strips (2 - 14 inch self adhesive strips)on top of both
headlight lens edge which will be just under the hood edge.
For me a very convenient location as the LED strips light at a 90 degree
angle, which would be in a forward direction.
I'm trying to locate a 12 volt power source other than the parking light
wire.
Can anyone suggest a power source I can connect to that provides power only
when the key is on?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.
