G'day All.
For the guys in the US I checked what I paid for my U/C in August 2003.
Back then it was EUR 3860.00 and that was the unpainted price so what Macca has
just been quoted (EUR 2500.00 Painted) is a considerable price reduction. You
guys are lucky.
Wish I was.
No point in buying a lotto ticket.
By the time I paid freight, GST, Profiled it and painted it I can assure you it
worked out to a lot of AUD$.
Nige.

  Hi Ian,
I now have pricing and leadtimes for your required Main Landing Gear Bow H36.
  The price is 2.500,00 Euro.
We should have some painted ones available in about 3 weeks, I am told.
Will you arrange your own shipping?
We can also get a shipping quote and you could compare and choose the best
for you.
Please send me a written order for the MLG Bow, so that I can get it into the
system with your address details.
Prepayment will be necessary please, either by bank transfer or by credit
card (visa or mastercard).
  Best Regards,

    John

Philip Shanks phoned me from Austria to explain things. It would seem they
may have undercart bow in a month (made outside their factory) then they need
to paint same in their factory and they would be ready for shipment. We need no
other parts

Could you make contact with Philip at Diamond-air re our need for undercart
and he needs our shipping details. He said they are no real experts on
airfreight to Australia so can you remember what has happened in the past? I
think it was Shankers the German freight co and we need AIR FREIGHT to
Brisbane. Another firm I have used in past is ICE (int cargo express) which is
at the W base of the Gateway bridge. I seem to remember it weighs 20kg about

I am sorry that we have not got back sooner to you.
I am still waiting internally for the new pricing and delivery dates.
I have been told that we should have some available this month.
But as I am sure you understand we must fill the previous orders first.
I will inform you of delivery date and price (and our bank details) as soon
as I can.

      Stefan
Great news that it is available

Below is the email I got from Phillip Shanks re the unavailability and a
German speaking member of our club phoned Austria and it was suggested it would
be a long delay (3 to 4 months) re "testing new materials" Thus we deceided
to look at the repair option.

Thank you for the good news - could you advise current cost packed for
airfreight and painted white ASP as well as bank details for payment. You will
note below that a higher price was expected

Seems like we all have had a break down in communications on this topic.
I did have an aircraft engineer from Austria here recently (visits your factory
regularly) and in German he said "that h36 undercart mould is always in use"

I will send you photos of damage to our undercarts and you may be able
give an opinion if it is repairable on economic basis.

      Hi Ian,
This has become a big problem part for us.
Our production has run out of a specific material for this and is now no
longer available.
Our engineering department has been testing new material types, but this
has been a long process.
I am afraid that this will take several months longer to come to a
solution, as once new material has been approved the drawings will need to be
changed and approved and the production process can begin.
I am sorry that I do not have better news for you. We have 4 other
customers that are waiting for this same part.
The last price that we have for this was Euro 5451.63, but I expect this
to change with the new production of these.
      Best Regards,

      Phil Shanks

        Hello Stefan

Thank you for your reply but the trouble is we would like to buy a new
one from you but we were told it is "4 months delay" because of material
supply. This surprises me as it seems to be only constructed of conventional
glass materials. Thus we would like to repair an undercart with minor damage.
Enclosed are plans we have from you for the h36 but this plan does not
correspond to what we have in our undercart so obviously you have changed the
construction method since this drawing.

It is sad that you can not help us in some way as we have a drawing but
not the right drawing from you. Could your headquarters reconsider (this
drawing has been released by sombody!!) or would it help if Australian
airworthiness authorities were to ask for the details?

Sorry to be persistent on this topic of the drawing

        Regards

        Ian McPhee
