So here we go. Who has done what?
I spent the Christmas break in the Hanger working on Gliders basically.
Youngest son came up and flew the Diamant till the annual ran out. I did a
check flight with a rear Air Commodore of the RAAF before he flew his ASW20
in the state comps. My Best Height gain for the break and of course I wasn't
doing the flying. My best height gain with me flying for the period was
doing the Temp Trace each morning till the annual ran out. (not doing that
again. 2 aircraft due in within 2 days) so it doesn't count cause the engine
was running.
When the annual ran out on the Diamant and the youngest Son couldn't fly no
more it came into the hanger. I'll give him his dues he did work hard with
me to get it done. Of course the Weather went of the boil for those days. I
sent him of the do the test flight when it was finished only to return to
the hanger myself and plod on doing the annual and Engine change on the
Dimona (Dion the youngest went on to have 5 soaring days straight above
10,000 and up to 15,000. His older brother replaced him later for more of
the same)
Oh did I mention the engine change on a Motor Falke as well. Crazy I am to
get into all this at once. Still I plod on.
Heather had me do a refit on the Shop when I got home (I keep telling her I
am not a Cabinet Maker but she won't believe me) so have only just got back
on the job again last weekend. I swear that's the last time I do Major works
over the Christmas Break. No Ones open and you can't get anything let alone
get anything done.
Hope to be flying on my next trip up in 2 weeks.
So has anyone had some decent soaring?.
Go on put me to shame.
Put it on the list.
Cheers.
Nige.
