Hi Nige,

Pretty sure mine are stainless, but as I have not had any difficulties
in that area I cannot say for sure. I will have a look tonight.

Subject: [DOG mailing list] Aileron Hinge Rivets.

Hi all.
We have a member in N.Z. with a H36 where the Rivets attaching the
Aileron Hinges are so badly corroded that the heads have popped off 50%
of them.

The Hinge is Stainless Steel as I recall.
Not trusting my Memory to much here but I thought the rivets were
stainless as well.
Can anyone verify what material as I am some distance from my aircraft.
I have not had any problems with corrosion and haven't heard of anyone
else although there was one aircraft from the Thai's as I recall that
had lots of rivet ends floating around in the wing from the Thai's
removing the aileron at some stage. That being the case they may have
changed to Alloy. that is assuming they were stainless in the first
place. Seems strange that only one of the Thai Dimona's has displayed
this problem.
Comments please guys.
Nige.
