Hi All.
Below is an excerpt from the end of a mail I sent today on another matter to
the mailing list for the GFA Airworthiness Panel. It was a serious matter with
posts going back and forth for the last 4 days.
After my comments on the matter at hand I couldn’t help but lighten the
discussion. Seemed to me others would appreciate the tail. It pays to not take
yourself too seriously but have a laugh at yourself sometimes and this was one
of them for someone who prides himself in planning and execution of sometimes
difficult engineering tasks.
Enjoy my tale.

Off topic I have just installed ducted AC in my house. Friday I was in the roof
space for some time and had lifted the intake box up through the hole in the
ceiling I had cut for it. I then screwed it into place and pulled the fan coil
unit across to it and sealed it all up really well to ensure efficiency. At 3
o'clock some 30 mins after sealing everything up and I am working on the
ducting the phone rings and it is someone needing engine advice. Reception is
lousy under the iron roof so I hang up and work my way to the man hole to get
down and call them back, I also need a leak. I get to the man hole and at that
moment realise the ladder is positioned below the intake box where I used it to
get the box up into the roof space and that box is well and truly stuck in
place now. Heather is not due home till 6.30. Someone is coming to borrow my
propeller balancer but that is not till 5 o'clock.
So the next time you are going to use the phrase “boxing yourself in to a
corner “ don’t.
Think of me and say “don’t do a Nige”
I hope that put a smile on your face.
Enjoy your day all.
Cheers.
Nige.
