The Doohickie’s are rear luggage restraints. Which I always found interesting as I never worked out what to use as front restraints as I couldn't find any opposing forward points. I installed my own using glass rovings bonded through the foam composite fuel tank cover plates at multiple points giving me a large array of choices for tie down. However I remember one occasion when I didn’t use them and Heather’s Hand bag and some other items ended up in our laps from the aft shelf in severe turbulence. Should have used them eh !!!!!.
