Craggy Aero have a couple of used Colibri II devices for only $250 US. New price is around $700. http://www.craggyaero.com/used_equipment.htm These handly (matchbox sized) devices are an IGC approved logger and also operate as vario and nav device. You can program a task directly into them or from XCSoar on another device with the right cable. I use one in my glider and have found it to be great - easy to download logs from via mini-sd card and also as a vario or nav device when I've had battery problems. They're so tiny that they fit on any dashboard easily. They run with built in battery or off glider battery via 5 volt usb converter. You'll seldom complain you have too many nav devices.
