Hi All. I am sending to the GFA Engine Training Team and DOGS at the same time so hope there is no conflict for the Mail System. Tonight I was supposed to be in Melbourne at the GFA AGM Presentation Dinner to present the Ryan award Posthumously for John Viney. I was ecstatic to be asked to do so and had his daughter Sam all set to receive it. Unfortunately events overwhelmed me health wise and was unable to travel. Rob Hanbury the GFA CAD did it in my absence and I am sure he would have done JV justice.
Thus attached from Samantha taken at their table after the presentation. For the overseas members on the DOG list it will not make much sense but to the OZ DOG’s they will know him as one of ours and those involved in airworthiness will know and have respected him. I guess for us in OZ whether a DOG or part of the E Team this is our last hoorah for a mate. He has gained the Ryan award and as I said to Sam that will have to go “straight to the pool room” for the family to admire henceforth. Also attached page 1 of BSE Engines and Systems Revision 5.
