I did the surroundings of panel same stone spackel spray paint but when finished I put clear over the stone spray finish for added protection. With canopy frame before stone spray I made up a grey international perfection PU (8HRS touch dry time) then the stone spray spackel paint and it really bonds to the slow setting international PU paint then the chear. Time consuming but well worth while.
