Jarek,

You'll have to take off the elevator to lift the rudder off the top pin.

Elevator off

Remove bolts holding cables onto rudder - AFTER tying a thin rope through them
so they don't disappear into the fuselage.

Remove rudder centre bolt

Lift rudder off top pin

You'll now have clear view of the tailwheel cables and the assembly.

Remove the cables after tying off as with the rudder cables

Loosen the bolt clamping cable arm onto tailwheel mechanism

Tap down the locking washer

Undo the large nut

Tailwheel mech will drop down

I've had a few tailwheel problems as my Dimona has the old unsprung fitting but
it has way less movement in the block than yours from the video. I think you
have problem there.

Cheers,

Greg.

Ian, Rob,

Many thanks for all your support. I will reply how the land lies once I have a
look at the tailwheel assy. Will I also have to take off the elevator?

Best regards

Jarek

I would......

1- Take off the rudder and check the wooden block at the base of the fin.

2- Remove the tailwheel steering cables, drop out the tailwheel and inspect the
shaft and shaft hole internally

Rob

That does look dodgy.  ..   too dodgy I reckon.   Either Laurie or Rob have
mentioned a problem where the big wooden block that supports the tail wheel can
actually rot because of water getting in the two threaded holes for the
elevator support when folding the wingsThere is a lot of weight hence stress on
the tail wheel assy so any problem really needs to be addressed pronto.

The bearings also may be a problem

I do have a complete assy as removed from an Aussie Dimona if you need one.

Hello,

Could you please have a look at this youtube video https://youtu.be/jR1kA47VMTI

I had tried to attach a video to my email before, but it was rejected.

In your opinion, is the rocking movement of the tail wheel excessive?

Berst regards

Jarek
