hi all.

through one thing or another the aerodrome that i fly out of has a 98/avgas shandy  available(up to around 30% avgas).

since running on this stuff i have had a few issues. the most recent being flooding. (fuel dripping out of air filter after 15 seconds of cranking..... blurk! not ideal )

after noticing that the odd drop of this fuel on my wing left a yellow residue i am thinking that maybe as fuel evaporates out of carb bowl it is leaving this gummy residue on needle and seat in much the same way as you might find in two stroke engines that are left to sit for lengthy periods of time with the petrol evaporating and leaving components of the oil behind.

alternatively  i am wondering, if the needle has a rubberised tip, is this chemical cocktail affecting the rubber (less ideal.... and a little bit alarming if this is the case - ie. what else has it affected)

havent had the minutes to properly investigate what is actually going on as yet.

but in any case a quick google search for carby kits reveals many models of cd 150. as i am very lazy, does anybody have anything more specific with regard to model numbers (or even specific part numbers for needle and seat, diaphragm etc.) close at hand?

cheers all

ric
