An interesting ( so I was told)  fact is the head honcho and founder of MT Propellors origionally was an engineer for Hoffmann and was the engineer who designed the mechanical 3 position Hoffmann prop we use .
A couple of years ago when Hoffmann had some serious issues, I did try to organise the use of the NZ designed and manufactured AIRMASTER prop which is electrically operated constant speed unit.    Ended up with a personal phone call from the NZ CAA engineering team leader effectively saying “over my dead body” as Airmaster is non approved and the H36 is type certified.
We did organise 2 blades however which of course needed to be Right hand rotation for the VW Limbach.   Rotax are left hand.
I still think an airmaster CS electric prop would be a real plus for the L2000 and L2400
So if there is any interest, we do have 2 blades (Sensnich manufacture) and Airmaster could build up the hub  assy.  But not possible in NZ.

I corresponded once with a Taifun owner. Best of my recollection is that he had an electric prop and had an interest in Hoffman, as he was concerned about enough battery energy to unfeather after long wave flights. Interesting challenge.

Subject: [DOG mailing list] Super Dimona prop change brushes?

Hi all,

Could someone please advise where I can buy the carbon brushes for the electrical prop pitch change mechanism?

I’m not sure if I should be approaching the diamond dealers or the Hoffman pro service agents.

Many thanks,

Greg.

Hi All,

Attached is a cross section of the spar just inboard of the dive brake box
from VH-WVW. Which im sure is of interest

It was one of the first H36's manufactured for the Thai Air Force.

Does tend to show the level of QC at the time. plus the reason Wolf
Hoffmann designed significant structural redundancy as there has been no
wing failures that I know.

We have our Dimona ZK-GCB out of the air at the moment for the 2 mandatory
checks ... dive brake rods and the fuel tank inspection (we still have the
GRP one)
Corrosion is always an issue of course and the brakes were no exception.

But all good

Best regards
Ian W
