You have to play with serial or usb or whatever port, I mean physical
device connected to PC where the browser on dolibarr is displayed, web
browsers do not have this capabibliities to play with physical external
device (may be with hand made specifics browser plugin), as well as web
server like apache is not designe to do that.
Use tricks like write a file that is read by deamon or crontab task each
seconds, or API xml or REST, that interact with some material... you
always need an communication layer, like driver and some executable that
can play with your physical device.
Take care to the architecture, if your webserver is the caskdesk it can
work, but it's not smart(stolre your caskdesk, you lost all your
data...), you should deploy a server in your back office and only have a
browser with printer as cashdesk.

Yup, but you still need to have a communication layer for the EPT and
another communication layer between whatever you use on the Pi and
Dolibarr.

Think the good way is to pass by standalone minipc like raspberry
pi where the tpe was connected and an appli send payement info to
Dolibarr with xml
This functionality must be use too for printing problems too

I remember looking into it some years ago and the solution was,
indeed, to use a Java lib borked into PHP with some abstraction
layer.
It was a lot of hassle for very little benefit so our client made
the decision to not go that way.
I can get to the archive and retrieve my research from that time
if you're really dedicated ;)
Cheers,

Hi Hodei
You will find nothing in PHP to connect TPE, look for java and I
think they have no dolibarr module to communicate with a TPE,
perhaps with POS dev (2Byte or ATM)
