Cacert isn't accepted by most of the browsers. Free alternative: http://www.startssl.com/

Hi

We could get one for free from http://www.cacert.org/.

In this case better to have a self signed certificate. With experience cacert as same behaviour, few os and browser accept this CA. With a geek public maybe, but to a Michu public bad idea.

They are great members of the open source community and promote
    community managed certification.

https://www.startssl.com is also a very popular alternative I've
seen used by many free software projects.

We use it on alternc and spip projects. I can propose to generate a wildcard but will be with mine organization name. Although is about 100€ to create a wildcard class2 with dolibarr association name. Procedure is a bit ugly (between call confirmation, web interface and website confirmation) but job is done.
