There is a lot of code that uses DocumentHelper and DocumentFactory via its static interfaces. I would suggest we use abstract base classes for these that delegate to an inherited instance. That way you can configure both of them to use your specialized class without modifying existing code base.

Perhaps if you provide a url to the code that you have changed, we can take a look and better understand where you are going.
