Hi!
The encoding is set on the OutputFormat object for example:
OutputFormat outFormat = OutputFormat.createPrettyPrint();
outFormat.setEncoding("ISO-8859-1");
// p_resp is a HttpServletResponse object
XMLWriter out = new HTMLWriter(p_resp.getOutputStream(), outFormat);
// xmlDocument is the created XML Document
out.write(xmlDocument);
