Is there a way to do this without doing this:

DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder();
org.w3c.dom.Document doc = builder.newDocument();
doc.appendChild(doc.importNode(el,true));

I think I tried DOMDocument.addElement(el);, but it said the methods were
not implemented.
