The problem seems to be the missing space after div. i.e.
string-length(/F/FAT/SON)div 10
is OK
but
string-length(/F/FAT/SON)div10
is not. I can reproduce it with
string-length('This is a string longer than 10')div10
so apparently the particular object model or input document is not
relevant.
