With the zone nature of DNS neither of those should be an issue.  I too
would like to know the rationale for this.  It seems stupid to me, since
it creates extra hassle (or at least, suspicion) for the end-user for no
apparent gain.

My initial reaction upon reading this post was "what does Paypal object to?"
