Helpful, probably.  Something to rely on to protect yourself from  
being attacked, no.

Depending on type of the DDoS attack you're getting, it's very  
possible that you'll never know which domain was the target.  The only  
solution we've found for this kind of threat is to invest in dedicated  
IPS hardware.
