DNS wasn't the issue here earlier -- I was seeing a different problem: failure of the Tucows HTTP Forwarder (216.40.47.17 redirect.managednsservice.com) to respond (failing often, but not always, suggesting a load, path, or DoS issue). Now I've seen some DNS failures (same ISP, same DNS servers), followed by success. Thus even this probably isn't just a straight DNS caching issue. While it's conceivably out-of-sync ISP DNS (between two servers, hidden behind the DNS proxy at 192.168.1.1), it could also be slow response from Tucows DNS servers (again, load, path, or DoS issue). Regardless, the problem I've been seeing with HTTP Forwarding is now apparently finally resolved -- all of my tests are now succeeding.
