Hi Alex,

Thanks for the feedback. We'll have a look into this.

As for the prodding -- why yes we will. :)

Cheers

CIRA helpfully no longer displays the registrant number for domains in APPRVL status (regardless of legal type) in their new Whois. This information is necessary when we need to register multiple .ca domains to a single newly-created (not yet completed) CIRA profile, so that the customer doesn't end up with a separate CIRA profile for each domain.

The old CIRA Whois used to show the registrant number that was set aside for the new registrant.

Since this situation came up tonight for the first time since the new Whois was launched, I did some experimenting with the OpenSRS API and found that get_order_info returns the registrant number (the field name is 'cira_profile').

Tucows, since you have the registrant number, it would be immensely helpful if you could display it somewhere in the order info in the RWI. Add a line for it, put it in the order notes, or whatever, so long as we can get it easily.

<rant> Overall, I like the new CIRA Whois format, but I'm highly bugged by a field label change they've made: what used to be "Date- Modified" is now "Name servers last changed", which is highly misleading to customers. This date actually updates when *any* change is made to the domain, not just name servers. It's a good idea to have a "Name servers last changed" field (in addition to a more general "Date-Modified"), as long as it actually shows what it claims to show. Tucows, can you prod CIRA into fixing this? </rant>
