I've played "Jesus" since my band did it in 72'
Am7 with a D thrown in there during the verses.
There is an E7 chord that looks like this.
6th fret 1st finger 4th string ( D string )
7th fret 2nd finger 5th string ( A string )
7th fret 3rd finger 3rd string ( G string )
8th fret 4th finger 2nd string ( B string )
Then you step up the 3rd finger to the 8th fret.
Most of the notes on the run up pattern are
between the 5th and seventh frets utilizing the
A, D, G strings.
Play around with this and you might be able to make
sense of it.
