I hope all are home safe and sound by now from the last Doobie concert of this
millennium!!!. I can't really express the feeling of this final
concert.....except as Holly said, these 8 guys truly warm our souls!!! To stop
and reflect over how they have affected my life and love of music in the last 25
yrs, gets into the very core of my being. I know that sounds dramatic, but let's
face it, you just don't love music, go to concerts and have a band that has been
on grueling schedules, with their own personal lives, take the time to give as
much back to their fans as these wonderful men have done throughout the years.
It still amazes me. And I thank you guys for the time and energy you have given
us all over the years. You are all truly special men. And your music has been a
part of my life and will always be close to my heart and soul.
NOW......What a weekend! This list has introduced a great group of people into
my life, and to be able to go to a concert, and meet up with old concert mates,
and meet the new ones, is SUPER! And AC didn't have any disappointments, (except
we are all sorry that Tommy and Skylark were feeling a little under the weather,
and unable to join us!!!) we came to rock and I think we rocked the room!!!
There is something special about that Harley sound that starts the show, that
always gets my blood pumping!!! I really dug John's new Fiddle...and the
guitar...what a sound!!!
And at one point I think Pat wanted to get off that stage, and into the crowd so
bad, I thought he was gonna fall into it!!! They gave us all they had, and as
always it was the best..
It was so wonderful meeting and seeing all of you , especially Bill, Ralph,
Steve, Greg(Skunk), and Scott Wieser .....THANKS for the film....if you send me
your snail off the list....I'll send you copies!!! And Torrey....what a job you
pulled off!!!!
Believe me, all of your hard work was appreciated by all, and getting to meet you
FINALLY...was a keeper...I look forward to it again soon I hope.
I have to say that when Pat sings "Can't Stand to Lose"...it almost brings tears
to my eyes...this is definitely gonna be a biggy, and bring in a whole new group
of Doobie Fans for sure!! I can't understand how the band keeps getting better
each concert?? And I also can't understand how come John never ages, as we all
become a little gray and wrinkled....HE NEVER AGES!!!! If you read this John,
please give me your secret!!!
And Doobster, even though I know your stomach was churning...it was the highlight
for all who know you, to see you living out one of your dreams, and rockin' your
big heart out on that stage...very appropriate after all you have done for the
list and the Veterans..and the fans..you looked like you belonged up there in
that final bow of the millennium!!! I too, am waiting to read your post!!!
Sorry to drag on like this, but I'm still savoring the weekend, and don't want to
let go of the feelings yet!! I guess I'll close by saying again, thank you to
the band...we all love you guys, and can't wait to see and hear what 2000 has to
bring from you!! I am waiting. to get that new CD with anticipation, in the
spring I hope!!! Thanks to all who made this weekend a great one for me...I love
ya all , and Keep Rockin'!!!!!
