Well guys and gals, I just returned from our Virginia Beach Extremely Mini
Doobie Convention. The good news is we had a great time. The bad news is
only Miles, his wife Laura, their daughter Josie, and my buddy Ray Highers
from the old Grand Funk Internet Fan Club with his wife Linda were able to
make it. The food was excellent, and afterwards we were treated to tour the
offical Far East Coast Doobie Shrine at Miles' house.
Miles and I have a lot of work to do. We have to convert Ray into a Doobie
Fan Club member. Ray is still mourning the demise of Grand Funk, but it's
time to jump in feet first with a fan club which actually has an intact
band LOL.
Unfortunately Nancy had an emergency and could not join us, Laurin was busy
converting sinners (maybe he could help us convert Ray?), and nobody knows
what happened to Mary. We suspect that she over slept while listening to
South City Midnight Lady, and woke up too late to join us! LOL
Anyway, it was great meeting Miles, Laura, and Josie. Now it's time to
start figuring out finances for a possible Saratoga trip. Gee, I hope that
blasted Miles doesn't grab every single piece of Doobie memorabilia there!
Peter Dubin has already warned me about that dern Miles!
