Thank you so much for those of you who emailed me after my posting!  There does seem to be a great group of people on this list!!

It was requested that I tell you something about myself, so here goes!!!  I am a 43 year old female, married, with two grown daughters (22 & 19).  My husband and I have been classic rockers for most of our lives (unfortunately, I had the unpleasant experience of growing up in a country :( household)!  My oldest daughter likes pop music (yuck) and the youngest likes classic and "hippie" rock, you know stuff like the Dead, Allman Brothers, etc.

My husband and I have quite the collection of vinyl.  While everyone else has been tossing their albums and turntables over the past few years, we have been gathering them up.  We probably have at least four turntables in our house, not to mention several hundred albums and several hundred 45s!  Most of the Doobies we have is part of our original collection of long-time playing material!!!

Neither of us were able to get to concerts in the 70's, so have been thrilled that the classic rockers have been touring the past few years!  We finally got to start seeing concerts in the later 80's, but didn't get to see a Doobies concert until the last 4-5 years.  My first Doobies experience was at Michigan State University about 4 years ago, for some sort of Michigan Fest.  It was a huge crowd spread out all over a big field sitting on blankets, etc., and unfortunately our section of ground was not very close to the stage.  Thank goodness for huge screens!!  But the concert was great and the crowd really got into it!

Then about 2-1/2 years ago, the husband and I both got to enjoy the Doobies in Vegas.  Can't remember the name of the casino, but we had awesome seats!!!  And the show was wonderful!!!  It was rather interesting though.  This was our first trip to Vegas and we really didn't know what to expect.  We arrived early at the casino holding the concert, and stood around until they opened the doors.  We were then escorted to seats in the upper section of the sitting area.  We had been told by a local that if we didn't like the seats we were given, we could "tip" the person doing the seating, and they would take us to a better seat.  We gave her some cash and she took us to a table butted right up to the stage and seated us 4 seats out from the stage!!  We were THRILLED!!!!!!  One of the interesting things at this show was that the announcer stated there would be no standing and no smoking.  We weren't worried about either since we don't smoke and we were so close, we knew we wouldn't have to stand.  However, shortly after the lights went down, someone just had to light up some sort of cigarette, and it was just seconds after the smell wafted over, that spotlights were shown directly onto the spiraling plumes, and big bouncers descended upon the guilty party telling him to put it out or leave!  Then later a girl got very carried away and decided to dance on the table.  That didn't last too long either.  (I think she was a little too drunk to be trying to balance on the table!)

Anyway, I don't want to get accused of rambling too much!  But that's a little about me and my Doobious experiences!  I'm very much looking forward to July when they come to St. Joseph, Michigan.  If there are any fans anywhere close around this area, send me an email.  So far, I haven't noticed any!

Thanks again for the warm welcome - and keep those positive, informative, and FUN Doobie postings coming!!!

Diane
