It was cool to find out where JIJA originally came from. I never had
thought about it, or looked on the album to see the credits, and always
thought it was an all Doobies tune.
Maybe this explains why it wasn't in "The Brown Book". Perhaps Warners
couldn't get permission to reprint the music.
When the guys palyed the concert in Des Moines back in '98, they had a
local gospel choir joining them, and one of their singers did the
interlude to JIJA, as well as the whole group singing background
vocals. It was a truly excellent performance of this Doobie classic.
