Well folks, since we currently have no, read that "0" tour dates for the
Doobies anywhere on the East coast, I have had to make myself content with
seeing some other groups lately.
Last week we had the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and Britney
Spears here in Roanoke. Since I work part-time at the local Civic Center, I
get in all shows for free. The Peppers were really cookin'! I lasted all of
two minutes watching Britney Spears (not into her at all).
This weekend I'm traveling to Suffolk to see Mark Farner of Grand Funk
Railroad. My daughter, age 5, has a big crush on him.
In May we will be graced with KISS, Ted Nugent, and Skid Row here. I have
always wanted to see Ted, since he is a real wild man. When I last saw KISS
in 1975 I couldn't hear for about three days, just a dull roar.
Unfortunately, like in the music world goes on here on the East coast
without my Doobies. Maybe Torrey, Miles, and I should recruit some Navy
Seals for a kidnapping mission to California and Hawaii to bring the boys
over this way. Of course it would be much simplier for some of our
promoters to get off their keisters and bring them here!
