I received a heart wrenching telephone call last night from Shad Meshad of the NVF. He was literally on the verge of tears due to the current financial situation the NVF finds itself. 2 fundraisers for this month have fallen through and they are struggling to keep the doors open even until June. We have some items here that we will put up for sale in order to generate some much needed funds to keep Shad going. Remember, the NVF is a charity, so any amount paid for an item above the "price" of the item can be deducted from your 2000 taxes. Since several of these items are "throw away" type items, almost 100% of your donation will be deductable. Here are the items for sale, first come first serve. If you can offer to pay more to help Shad, that would be TRULY appreciated! 1) PERSONALIZED autographed Doobie Brothers Ephiphone guitar (INCLUDING AUTOGRAPHES BY MICHAEL MCDONALD AND JEFF "SKUNK" BAXTER!!!). $1,200 This guitar was signed by Michael McDonald and special guest Jeff "Skunk" Baxter at Michael's 4/16/00 show at the Birchmere club in Alexandria, VA. Michael signed "All the best, Michael McDonald" and Jeff signed, "Rock 'n Roll, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter". If you are the winning bidder, we will have the Doobie Brothers (Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Keith Knudsen, John McFee, Mike Hossack, Skylark, Guy Allison, and Marc Russo) personalize their autographs to you (ie, "Thanks Laurin, Pat Simmons"). The guitar will be signed at the Doobies June shows at the Orleans Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas and will be shipped that same weekend. 2) Doobie Brothers autographed bass drum head (INCLUDING MICHAEL MCDONALD AND JEFF "SKUNK" BAXTER!!!) - $250.00 Once again, Michael and Jeff signed this item at Michael's show at the Birchmere in Alexandria 4/16/00. This is the drumhead off Keith Knudsen's drumset (not the Eagle Emblem drumhead, but the actual clear DWdrums head he pounds on). This head was removed from his kit during the Doobies/Chicago tour of last summer. There is a nice indention where Keith pounded the cr-p out of this drumhead. Signed by all current members of the Doobie Brothers; Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Keith Knudsen, Mike Hossack, John McFee, Skylark, Guy Allison, & Marc Russo as well as Michael McDonald and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. 3) Autographed Doobie Brothers Drumheads (only 4 in stock) - Taken directly from Keith Knudsen's kit during the Doobies/Chicago tour last summer. $125.00 each. Used by Keith Knudsen during the tour, these are signed by Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Keith Knudsen, Mike Hossack, John McFee, Skylark, Guy Allison, & Marc Russo. ALL PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING IN THE US!!! INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING WILL BE JUST A LITTLE MORE. I will be getting together will Miles tomorrow and we may be able to come up with some additional items there, however, this is a good start. Donations can be made directly to the NVF 3 ways: 1) Calling the NVF directly at 888 777 4443 M-F 900a-500p Pacific time (Los Angeles) 2) E mailing the NVF at [EMAIL PROTECTED] 3) By s-mail at 9841 Airport Blvd., Suite 414, Los Angeles, CA 90045 This is a dire time for the NVF and any/all help keeps there doors open. If you can offer more for these items, please do...they are truly desperate. Should you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me here or at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks, Laurin _________________________ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe doobiefans-list" in the body.
