Well, I took a short jaunt down to Ridgecrest yesterday. What a great day for
a ride. I got to see 3 of the 4 bands playing at MusicFest 2000. The Pepper
Williams Band sure put on a good show and the following band, called Guru,
had a female lead singer with just a fantastic voice. I'm going to find their
CD. The last band to come on you may have heard of. The 8 piece band put on a
nice, tight, very polished set. Really got the crowd rockin. There were quite
a few young people in the crowd who absolutely enjoyed the Doobies.
The stage was set in a nice park on the Naval Weapons base and although it
was a hot night, the breezes helped. I didn't run into any fan club members
that I knew, buy maybe some of you were there. It was fun.
Let's see, over 500 miles round trip, 2 days great riding, oppressive heat
and a chance to see the Doobie Brothers. I can't find a down side here.
