OK, summer tour time getting ready to kick off again here and, lo and
behold, a new CD sometime soon on the horizon.

What does this mean? Time to start "offering" the boys some "input"
regarding the setlist. Now, be real, we're not looking for anyone's dream
setlist here. Just a song or 2 you've always wanted to hear "live" at a
Doobies show. I mean, consider the following:

The Doobies generally play 75-100 minutes depending on the venue. That
means that the set list will contain somewhere between 17-20 songs. It's a
given that the hits will be played during a Doobies concert. Let's list
them:

China Grove
Long Train Runnin'
Listen to the Music
Rockin' Down the Highway
Black Water
Jesus Is Just Alright
Take Me In Your Arms
Dangerous
The Doctor
Takin' It to the Streets (not necessarily a given)
Little Bitty (been in there since 1997)

That's 11 songs out of 17-20, so we're down to 6-9 songs to fill out the
show.

The new CD will have a tremendous impact on the setlist. Assuming today's
technology of about 75 minutes of music per CD, I'm going to assume 12-14
new songs for the new CD. I would imagine that the band will want to play
6-7 songs off the new CD.

Hmm, that leaves NO MORE than 2 songs to fill out the set list...what I'm
saying is KEEP IT SIMPLE. We're not going to be keeping track of what song
gets how many votes...just hoping to "influence" the Messers. Doobie to
maybe play that song that fans have always wanted to hear live. I mean,
we've had some of the "CLASSICS" played in recent years..."Nobody", "Clear
as the Drive Snow", "Eyes of Silver", "Rainy Day Cross Road Blues", "Sweet
Maxine", etc...are there any songs we can add to that list?

Mine?

Another Park & Neal's Fandango...

Ya never know, this just might work...but, then again, probably not...but ya
never know...

Laurin
